BOISE, Idaho — Two Idahoans and a Boise State University graduate are on the brink of representing the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics after three days of competition at the U.S. Olympic track & field trials.

Borah High School graduate Nathan Green is one of 12 athletes on the start list for the men's 1,500-meter final at 6:47 p.m. MT Monday. Green looks to punch his ticket to Paris live on NBC and Peaco*ck after surviving the first round and semifinals.

The Boise native ran the race of his life in Saturday night's semifinal, posting a personal-record of 3:34.49, the fourth-fastest time of 25 competitors in the 1,500-meter semifinals in Eugene. The time is the third-fastest in NCAA history and a University of Washington all-time record.

The 2023 NCAA champion advanced to the semifinals by finishing in fourth place Friday night in the 1,500m first round with a time of 3:35.71. Green's run in Oregon comes after he finished in 10th place in the 1,500m at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
