The Hanson AI SDK controls Sophia's AI-based perception, NLP algorithms, open domain chat functionality, non-verbal language, low-level sensory input, and actuation controls.

The first humanoid statically and later dynamically balanced robot, WABOT, by Ichiro Kato of Waseda University, Japan, was developed around the same time.

Humans understand the situation and respond accordingly whereas machines do not have the capability of understanding. Humans are creative and imaginative.
