This is the meet to watch this weekend as there will be 208 teams, 3215 athletes and over 4800 entries attending this meet. If you thought those number were impressive out of the 3200 athletes competing 100 of them are All- Americans, 20 are national champions and 13 are US #1 returners. With that in mind be on the lookout for 400m freshman national record holder Tyrese Cooper as he races US #1 in the 300 Eric Allen Jr. in the 55m as well as the 300m. Also, compete in those same two events but on the girls side of things is US #1 in the 60m Jayla Kirkland who will be challenged by one of the best in the country, Lynna Irby.

On to the distance side of things where the girls 1K national record of 2:43.40 in in serious jeopardy. Two athletes who competed at the olympic trials last season will make a run for the fastest high school 1K in history. New Yorker Sammy Watson is an 800m specialist with 2:02 speed that will battle it out with Virginian Kate Murphy who just set the senior national record in the 3K with a 9:14 performance last weekend.

With that highly anticipated 3K going down we can not forget about Brandon McGorty as he is finally opening up in the 800m and has a seed time of 1:48 in the entries.

On Friday, the final league meet of the season for the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference Meet will be LIVE on MileSplit.com. With the Montgomery Invitational on Saturday and Southern Maryland Classic on the following Monday, the meet might serve as a meet for developmental athletes not racing in those top invitational events. The 8th grade phenom, Grace Ping, will be racing in the 3K on the purple track of the University of Washington this weekend. Also opening up their season in the 3K will be The NorCal Distance Project trio of Kate Grace, Leah O'Connor, and Brie Felnagle. WATCH LIVEMontgomery Invitational, (MD) 1/14
On Saturday, one of the premier events annually at the PG County Sportsplex will start off at 9 AM with the Montgomery Invitational. One of the meet's top stars will be Baltimore Poly's William Henderson, who is the national leader in the 55 meter dash (6.31) and long jump (24'6"), while ranked US #2 in the 55 meter hurdles. In the girls mile, 3 Foot Locker finalists will be racing between Hayley Jackson, Maria Coffin, and Abbey Green. A total of 96 schools and over 1,600 athletes are entered in the meet.
